My Oasis Autumn/ Winter 2015 Collection

My favourite project this year is probably the one I am currently doing. It is very fast paced and the turn around is very quick. I also think that it is my best work to date, putting everything I have learnt before into this one.

I chose Oasis because they are very print based. I feel over the year and last year I have become more confident with print and enjoy developing and working on them, more than anything else.
I also really liked the store and after doing market research, really felt my strength would lie there.
Since the project is for Autumn/Winter 2015 I chose more burnt and darker colours. I began to look at trends and picked up on ethnic prints and aboriginal art. Culture in fashion can be interpreted in many ways and I chose dots and simple patterns to really build my collection on.

My favourite print:

The dots in the front are all hand painted and scanned in and then scaled down and repeated for the background of the print as well.

Here is the range with my prints inside them:

It is now a waiting game until I present to Oasis and Paul Denicci, but I feel confident about my work and the research I have done. It will be interesting to see what they think now.

  1. Much of the Aboriginal Art sculptors centered on the death of their people. Because a high belief in spirits was and still remains, the Aboriginal people were very respectful of their dead.
