Tom Ford is one of the greatest designers.

"Provocation is common sense marketing."- This is the mantra of one the most influential designers in the world today; Tom Ford.

Not only has he rescued the likes of struggling luxury labels Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent in the past, but he has changed the way we also see fashion these days, proving to be a consistent and cohesive designer.Even though he majored in architecture, his influences from that part of the industry really translated into fashion design seamlessly, through his flawless tailoring. It is no surprise that Mr Ford was and still is, in demand.

He maintains to be exclusive, dressing only one celebrity per red carpet show. It is this type of exclusivity that Tom Ford really lives up to and as a designer of a ‘luxury’ brand. I really admire how he tries to make that one person feel individual and unique.

In an interview he mentioned that there are many designers that are probably “more talented” than him, but it is hard work and drive that sets him a part from the rest. From collections to cosmetics, whatever Tom Ford does, he is without a doubt successful. Tom Ford is a designer that has great depth and dimension, he knows what his clients want and more importantly how to dress them. Therefore it is no surprise that what he did earlier in his career, is also a explanation of his accomplishments today. After all, in order for fashion to go forward, it must look back.
