Illustrated Chick

I first met Sandra Lucia Diaz online on Instagram around 2012/13. I can't even remember how, but I remember seeing her amazing illustrations and work. It was at this time that I was studying Fashion at high school and have followed her work through to now and I've graduated with a degree.
She is a Miami based artist and fashion illustrator and her work is very unique and detailed with a distinctive style to it. Citing her inspiration from the runway is where a lot of her inspiration comes from. She sent me personal tutorials around 2012 and gave me advice on fashion illustration basics like drawing eyes and lips, since this was one of my weak points and has helped me a lot since! Plus she did all of this in her own time.
She also spends a lot of her time at department stores doing live sketches at Chanel and her ethic is truly inspiring! Her illustrations are even loved my musical artist Pharrell!

A couple of years ago, she began printing her prints onto phone cases and I bought one made by her a while ago. The case was amazing, the only problem was that with time the print came off, as I told her about this, I received a surprise in the mail. I was lucky to receive a surprise parcel from her which I wasn't expecting. It was lots of phone cases as well as an illustration print! It was a really thoughtful gift!

I highly recommend you to check out her work at Illustrated Chick. There you can not only view her blog for competitions new illustrations but you can even see the process of how they are made. Similarly, you can also view all of her latest work and ideas on Instagram (recommended). I find it amazing how she blends, draws and adds shadows to make her illustrations look very realistic!
She is certainly a huge source of inspiration for me and I am so glad to have met her online!
