Chanel Paris-Salzburg Metiers d'Art (Pre-Fall 2015) Show!

Chanel have been doing  Metiers d'Art shows for some time now where they have one collection on it a year showcasing their craftsmanship. These shows have often been in collaboration/ inspired by another country of city. They previously have done shows inspired by Russia, Dubai, Shanghai, India, Dallas & More. The one this year is inspired by Austria and more particularly Salzburg! Mr Lagerfeld is German and there is a big fashion link between Germany and Austria, this one seemed like a home is where the heart is collection. It looked so effortless, yet incredible!

The garments were truly beautiful! I love craftsmanship and well made products and Chanel has always shown that through their Metiers d'Art shows. It is a show you just have to watch to see how the garment moves and how the crystals on the bags and clothing shine with movement.

The garment silhouettes and accessories all had Austrian details. Whether it was an Austrian landscape embroidered and painted onto the fabric, or items of traditional clothing re-invented. There were small details taken from the traditional Austrian/German dress of the Dirndl and Lederhosen, they were then cut into new shapes and paired heavily embroidered and embellished garments. There was also plenty of Loden capes with a modern Chanel twist through fabric, silhouette and decoration! The hats were embroidered, stitched into and embellished with feathers, crystrals and beads with another twist to the traditional Tyrolean hat. In relation to the endless amounts of crystals and beading... It is the country where Swarovski was invented after all. A place I was also able to visit just a few months back in Austria. As a viewer watching this I can certainly see a crystal clear link between Austria and this collection (literally).

The colours were kept simple to Black and white with several pastel and bright colours mixed in. There were plenty of Stacked Pearl bracelets with hanging CC's, ruffles in Organza around the neck and lightweight pleated dresses in dyed strips of blue fabric. Embroidered and beaded handbags and jewellery were everywhere to be seen, maybe another link to Swarovski. The simple clean and near pinned back hairstyle really kept the focus to the clothing, craftsmanship and country. The show was very versatile and again... Chanel looking towards another emerging luxury market within Europe.

My Favourite Chanel show so far, apart from Spring 2009 Haute Couture nothing can truly beat that one!

  1. Very beautiful woman and she needs to dress up, and I intend to give yourself some jewelry to dress it, personally like swarovski bangle bracelets, I do not know how you feel?
