Japanese Spiral Origami TR Cutting

As you may or may not have seen from previous blog posts, I have been experimenting with TR Cutting and it's something I really like doing and have experimenting with outside of Uni in my own time with.
It is quite complex but once I got the hang of it, it is taking less time to complete the pattern and make it, which is great because it first used to take me 3 days for a 4 piece pattern and for a 7 piece pattern it took just 1 day!

Above on the left a 4 piece bodice pattern and on the right a 7 piece spiral TR garment.
The whole pattern meets in the middle and is pleated together. On the left I only did the pattern for another bodice which was my first attempt. You can see that I made a mock toile of the bodice, drew the pattern by eye and then cut it out and added length to each small individual triangle to add the length for the pleat. I did the same for the spiral dress on the right.

First I made a simple dress front toile with darts in it. Then I drew my spiral with the lines going through the darts and labelled each number

I then drew the inside web where it would all fold together and cut each piece out individually and added 8cm to each side, attaching each spiral together and then sewing it piece by piece.
