12 days Days Around Europe!
Recently; (25th August-4th September). I went on a tour with Star Tours around Europe for 12 days around Europe and it was an incredibly memorable experience and one the best trips I have been on! Here is what I go up to in those 12 days:
Day 1
We went from Wembley to Dover to catch a Ferry to Calais. We then drover all the way to Germany crossing Belgium along the way to the hotel where we would be staying. This day was full of travelling with only dinner provided.
Day 2
After breakfast in the hotel, we then joined up with some other people who were doing 14 days who had already done their 2 days prior in Belgium and Amsterdam.
After leaving in the morning we met some new people and went to Heidelberg, Germany and made some photo-stops along the way and saw the famous Heidelberg castle.
We also went to see a Cuckoo clock demonstration where we could also buy them and these are he views from the area, where we also had Lunch.
Later on we visited the Rhine Falls in Switzerland where we saw the falls and took a boat to get closer to them to take photographs.
We later took an extra excursion to see the city of Zurich. Here we went into the city, walked around and took photo's around the city and skyline.
We then went to our hotel in Switzerland for dinner.
Day 3
We later went to the hotel, this is the view from my favourite hotel from the whole trip. The hotel we stayed at was called the Schweizerhof and the views from the hotel were stunning! We stayed here for a total of 3 nights.
We also made many photo stops around Switzerland to take photographs of the stunning views.
We then made our way to the Lauterbrunnen Valley and Mt Jungfrau. We took a cog wheel train to the top of the mountain at 3454 metres and visited an ice palace and saw the glaciers from the top. We were also given warm tea and enjoyed the trip up there.
We had a packed lunch at the Lauterbrunnen Valley before going up to the mountain.
After visiting the mountain we went for dinner before coming back to the hotel and these are the surrounding views.
Day 4
After breakfast at the hotel we headed to Mt Titlis to take cable carts to the top to get onto the ice flyer and visited the Mountain.
We also enjoyed some ice cream at the top which was very nice!
After that we went to have lunch and then went to Luzern in Switzerland to buy souvenirs and visit the Chapel bridge to also explore the town, before going for dinner.
Day 5
This was the view from our hotel room on the last morning we stayed at the hotel. We then had breakfast before continuing with the rest of the day.
First we stopped at Liechtenstein in a town called Vaduz which is the 6th smallest country in the world. Here we had time to see some highlights of the town and photo stops along with some shopping time.
Later we went to the Swarovski Museum where we saw many amazing pieces as well as buying some jewellery from their store.
After lunch we visited a beautiful church.
After checking into the hotel, we had dinner and that was the end of the day.
Day 6
We departed in the morning for Venice after breakfast and these were the views from the journey. There was a lot of traffic and we reached late, but we were still able to explore the city.
We then took a boat to St Mark's Square, before taking a gondola ride though the streets of Venice.
We had some time to eat, shop and spend time in Venice before coming back to the boat and leaving Venice.
Some of the views from the boat ride.
We then came back to the hotel where we had dinner and then spent some time watching a match and drinking coffee in the hotel before going to sleep.
Day 7
We had breakfast at the hotel and then departed for Florence. We had some time to stop and take photographs.
Then we went to the city to start our long 45 minute tour of the city with a local guide who explained everything to us though microphones and headsets so we could hear what he was saying.
We went into some churches and even had some time to spare for coffee or shopping. Since I am a fashion design student I visited the Gucci Museum which was great for my work and spent my time there. It is right next to the area we visited.
Day 8
We visited the Colosseum in Rome and various other monuments including a theatre where we watched a 4D movie on the history of Rome.
Later we went to the Vatican, the smallest country in the world where we went to St. Peter's Basilica and went into the church.
We also enjoyed ice cream that Star provided to us free of charge.
Day 9
We later left for Pisa to go to the Cathedral Square to see the leaning tower as well as other famous landmarks.
Here is a view from the coach to Pisa.
I also really liked this light mirror artwork in the hotel we stayed at.
In the morning before leaving to Pisa this was the view from the hotel.
We then visited the leaning tower, we were also told we could go to the top but we wanted to shop and eat and the walk up there was known to be pretty intense and at a pretty steep angle since it was tilted.
After Pisa, we left to go back to Geneva City, Switzerland to visit a flower clock, broken chair and some very well known buildings and take some more photographs.
We also had some local pizza in Italy.
Day 10
We departed for Paris for a 6 hour journey and on arrival we had a boat ride on the River Seine with the views of the Eiffel tower and surrounding city.
At night after dinner we had a Paris at night tour and saw the Eiffel tower lit up and sparking at every hour for 5 minutes.
We also stopped at the Arc de Triomphe for some time for photos.
Day 11
On the second to last day we went to the Louvre muesum with the option to see the Mona Lisa or to visit Champs Elyeeses or any other places we wanted to visit close by.
I went shopping at Champs Elyesses and then we met up with the group for lunch and then went to the top of the Eiffel tower (3rd floor).
Day 12
On the last day we went to the Versailles garden and had the option to go inside but the estimated line was about 2 hours even though we went very early. So we just visited the gardens and had ice cream.
At the beginning of the trip to Versailles we took a group photograph and met lots of wonderful people on the trip!
Thanks to Star Tours for a very memorable trip and for our tour manager Mr Khusharu for organising some requests we had and our drivers. We covered so much that we wouldn't have been able to do ourselves and they kept us very safe. I would definitely love to travel with Star again!
